Gil Brodnitz

Gil J. Brodnitz is the Chief Technology officer for Microsoft US Financial Services and an Industry Advisor in our Banking and Payments business. He focuses on supporting our US client teams by developing new offerings and driving go to market campaigns that combine industry and technology themes for business outcomes.

He joined Microsoft from IBM Consulting, where he was a partner in Enterprise Strategy, serving clients in banking and financial markets with focus on strategic issues at the intersection of business and technology. For more than 25 years, Mr. Brodnitz has served major global financial institutions, corporations and government agencies, as both a trusted advisor and an executive, advising senior business and IT executives on digital transformation, IT strategy and effectiveness. Mr. Brodnitz has deep experience in developing global business and IT strategies and implementing digital transformations, including: IT and Digital business strategy and operating models, cybersecurity strategy, mobile payment innovation, business cases for major IT investment decisions, strategic program management and turnaround, and accelerating migration to the cloud. Gil holds a BA degree in Economics from Wesleyan University, and an MBA from Wharton/University of Pennsylvania.

Gil was previously the President and CEO of Cybis, LLC, a a fast-growing cybersecurity advisory firm formed as a joint venture between Convergint and Orbis Operations. He was responsible for all aspects of operations, business development, recruiting and human resources, financial management. He also founded Groundswell Strategies, LLC, a boutique business and IT transformation consulting firm. He was global practice leader for Business and IT Transformation at Capgemini Financial Services, where he doubled the size of the practice, globalized and lead the team that delivered over 100 million euro in annual pull-thru revenue. He has also been a consulting partner at Accenture and Boston Consulting Group, led the finance transformation for Capital One and was Chief e-Commerce Officer and CIO at Ventiv Health.

Gil lives in Takoma Park, MD with his wife Colleen and their two feisty border terriers, Lando and Iggy Pup. Together they have 4 adult children and enjoy cooking together, live music and international travel. Gil is also an avid photographer and frustrated guitarist.
